Obituary of Florence Isabel MacLean
The death of Florence Isabel “Laura” MacLean occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex on February 3, 2007 at the age of 85. Born at Judique, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia a daughter of the late Alan and Mary Christine (MacDonald) MacDonell and was the wife of the late John Hector MacLean. She is survived by daughters; Elizabeth (Franco) Fortunato of Miramichi, Victoria Fournier of Miramichi, Helen (George) Colter of Fredericton and Catherine (Ted) Ruck of Sussex Corner, son William (Sylvie) MacLean of Sussex, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters; Mary Gillis of Mulgrave, NS and Phyllis (James or Butch) of Port Hood, NS and brothers; Angus (Dawn) MacDonell of Guernsey, SK, Angus L. (Jean) MacDonald of Port Hood, NS, John MacDonald of Antigonish, NS and Collie MacDonald of Port Hood, NS, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Florence MacMillan and Helen Robertson and brothers Stanley MacDonald and Allan Joseph MacDonell. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex 506-433-2133 on Wednesday from 1:00 until service time at 2:30pm in the funeral home chapel. A committal service will be held at the Church View Cemetery, Whycogamaugh, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in the spring. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Arthritis Society or the Shriner’s Hospital would be appreciated.
