The death of Ernest Raymond White of Plumweseep, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on December 14, 2008 at the age of 78. Born in Westcock, NB a son of the late Richard and Kathleen (Harley) White. Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years Erma (Tower) White, daughter Jo-Ann White of Sussex and son Robin (Penny) White of Sussex, two grandchildren Collin and Bailey, sisters-in-law Faye White of Moncton and Shirley White of Digby, NS and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Edith Pooley and Kathleen Ward and brothers Leonard, Alfred and William White. Ray served in the Canadian Army for 22 years and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by Chippin Bros. in Fredericton and the Department of Health, Animals Branch, in Sussex until his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20, the Korean Veterans Association and the R.C.E.M.E. Atlantic Association. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Sussex Branch #20 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute on Tuesday at 6:45PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 17, 2004 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Leo Gallant officiating. Interment will be at Westcock Cemetery. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
