Obituary of Esther Scott
Esther Scott, 74, of Sussex Corner passed away on January 12, 2014 at the Sussex Health Center. Born in Toronto, she was a daughter of the late James and Elsie (nee Franklin) Cain, and the wife of the late Victor Scott. Esther enjoyed creative endeavors such as sewing, quilting, painting and writing poetry. Her favorite pastimes included bible studies and family vacations on P.E.I. Esther always looked forward to family gatherings as family was the most important part of her life. Esther is survived by her daughters: Linda (Albert) Burke and Cindy (Mark) Etheridge; her sons: David (Jennifer) Scott and Steven (Janet) Scott; her sister Joan; her brothers: Tom and John; her grandchildren: Hope, Luke, Sarah, Montana, Danny and Laura; her great-grandchildren: Reaghan, Skylar, Hunter and Bayden; as well as several nieces, nephews extended family and many friends. Besides her parents and husband, Esther was predeceased by her daughter, Eliza Jane; her sisters: Alice, Elsie, Hazel and Florence; and by her brother James. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, from 2-4 and 7-9pm and the funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 16, 2014, with Jeanette Cosman presiding. Interment will take place at the Markhamville Cemetery at a later date. Donations to Markhamville Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
