Bernard “Bernie” Frank Virtue, 65, of Sussex Corner, passed away on July 20, 2016 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Sussex, he was a son of the late Douglas and Muriel (nee Lewis) Virtue. Bernie worked at Shaw Group (Prestige Homes) for over 25 years. He enjoyed playing darts and cribbage, hunting, fishing, and four-wheelering. He is survived by his wife Ida Virtue (nee Mercer); his children: Melissa Marchbank (Frederick) of Norton, Melanie Prosser (Michael) of South Branch, and Douglas Virtue (Michelle) of Fredericton; his grandchildren: Jonathan & Taylor (Melissa’s children), Courtney & Michaela (Melanie’s children), and Brian, Sarah, Mable & Brianna (Douglas’ children); his siblings: Raymond Virtue (Phyllis) of Plumweseep, David Virtue (Wendy) of Richmond, ON, Leonard Virtue (Katie) of Arizona, Deborah Snider (Willis) of Smiths Creek, Wayne Virtue (Joyce) and Kevin Virtue (Wendy) all of Wards Creek, and Donna Dunfield (Kevin) of Corn Hill; as well as by many other extended family members and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex from where visitation will be held on Friday July 22, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Norton United Baptist Church.
