Obituary of Kathleen Florence Buchanan
Miss Kathleen "Kay" Florence Buchanan was born in Sussex on May 9, 1919; she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Florence (Hall) Buchanan.
After she finished nursing school, Kay enlisted as a nurse in the armed forces. After Key went on to work as a nurse and a director for Public Health in the Province of New Brunswick until in her retirement in the 1980's.
Kay was an avid golfer. She loved the game and continued to play well into her 80's. Even after, when she was no longer able to play, she would still ride around the golf course in a golf cart.
Kay will live on in the hearts of her sister, Phyllis McQuinn of Sussex; her nephews: Brian McQuinn and his wife Rita of Sussex and David McQuinn and his wife Margaret of Saskatchewan; her niece, Sharon Hayes and her husband Greg of Sussex; her great nieces: Michelle Pavano and her husband Mark of California and Pamela Lester and her husband John of Oregon; two great great nieces: Madelyn and Kaitlyn Pavano and 2 great great nephews: Conner and Carter Lester.
Miss Kathleen Florence Buchanan of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on April 11, 2012 at the age of 92. She is predeceased by her brother, Alden Buchanan and by her brother-in-law, Gerald McQuinn.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At Kay's request no visitation will be held.
A Graveside Service celebrating Kay's life will be held from Trinity Cemetery on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
