The family of Noreen Frances Burgess wish to announce the passing of their mother and grandmother, at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on April 25, 2009 at the age of 87. Born in Owen Sound, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Rose (Watkin) Dillistone. Noreen had been employed at the Sussex Crosswinds Centre as a secretary/bookkeeper and as manager. She was a member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church. Noreen will be lovingly missed by her sons; James Burgess (Lorraine) and John Burgess (Lynn), both of Halifax, daughters; Anne Latham (Gerald) of Halifax and Sara Veysey (Peter) of Jeffries Corner, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a brother Ted Dillistone (Anne) of Victoria, BC and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Burgess who passed away in 1988. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Monday from 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday April 28, 2009 at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Sussex Corner. Interment will take place at Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro, NS. Donations made to the NB Lung Association or Crosswinds would be appreciated.
