Obituary of Richard A. Cripps
The death of Richard Abner Cripps of Millbrook, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on October 20, 2009 at the age of 72. Born in Ratters Corner, NB, he was a son of the late Merle and Alena (MacKinnon) Cripps. Richard is survived by his wife Karen (Radcliffe) Cripps, daughters; Marsha (Gordon) Sheasby of Snider Mountain, Christine (Sterling) Hourihan of Southfield, Judy (Craig) Mitton of Knightville, Connie (Doug) Mallory of Millbrook and Stacy Cripps of Snider Mountain, sons; Ricky Cripps of Ratters Corner, Shawn (Melanie) Cripps of Grand Bay Westfield and Nelson (Ruby) Cripps of Edmonton, AB, 13 grandchildren, sisters; Emily (Leslie) Kilpatrick of Upham and Anne Richard of Lakeside, brother Laughlan (Kathy) Cripps of Lower Cove and brother-in-law Roger (Diane) Caron of Fredericton. Richard was predeceased by his sister Shirley Caron and brother-in-law Ralph Richard. Richard was an outdoorsman. He loved the woods, whether he was maintaining his woodlot, hunting, fishing or just watching the animals. He attended Forestry School, then went on to receive his Certified Engineering Technician and worked for the DOT. After the DOT he received his scaler’s license and went to work at Passekeag. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Thursday from 3-8PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday October 23, 2009 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel with Jeanette Cosman officiating. Interment will be at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner. Donations made to the Extra Mural Program or the Palliative Care Fund at the Sussex Health Centre would be appreciated.
