The death of Maurice Keith Harper of Sussex occurred on January 22, 2009 at the Sussex Health Centre at the age of 96. Born at Lauvina, NB, a son of the late Frederick and Maggie (Smith) Harper. Maurice is survived by his wife of 59 years Laurina “Renie” (Dunfield) Harper, daughter Evelyn Sparks (Tim) of Sussex Corner, son James Harper (Jean) of Grand Bay Westfield, grandchildren; Hillary Sparks, Jeffery Creighton, Andrew Creighton, Ashley Harper and Dana Fair, great grandchildren; Lila, Daniel, Caylee and Josh and four nieces. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Florence, sisters; Ruby Brown, Margaret Kerr and Laura Carr and brothers; Milburn and Charlie Harper. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday January 24, 2009 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Leo Gallant officiating. Interment will be at Smith Cemetery, Waterville, NB.
