Obituary of Ronald Glendon Otis
The death of Ronald Glendon Otis of Picadilly occurred at the Saint Jon Regional Hospital on April 28, 2007 at the age of 76. Born at Southfield, NB a son of the late Alexander and Emma (Campbell) Otis. Ronald is survived by his children; Murray Otis (Susan) of Eastern Passage, NS, Beth Floyd (Stanley) of Parleeville, Stephen Otis (Michelle) and Phillip Otis both of Sussex, four grandchildren and several great grandchildren, sisters Ethel Gailey of Apohaqui and Marie Henderson of Hatfield Point, brothers Aubrey (Joan) of Norton, Elvin (Lorna) of Sussex Corner, Murray (Marion) of Apohaqui, Clarence (Joyce) of Parlee Brook and Ernest of Southfield and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence. Ronnie was a loving and giving father, grandfather and brother. Over the course of his life he worked at many different jobs. As a young man he worked in lumber camps at various things. After this he worked in a garage, at fixing farm machinery and other jobs. After he married and started his family they lived at Hi-Lo Farm where he managed the day to day operation of the farm. Next he went to work as a carpenter and was well known for the quality of his work. In his later years he went to work at Potacan where he remained until his retirement 10 years later. Ronnie had a dry wit and a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by all. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Monday from 2-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 1, 2007 at 2:00PM at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be at Riverbank Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
