Obituary of Beverly Folkins

Folkins, Beverly Jean, 64, of Pleasant Ridge, passed away peacefully with her children by her side at the Sussex Health Centre on February 26, 2013.

Born May 17, 1948 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late William and Phyllis (nee Goldsworthy) Briggs.

Bev was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church, the St. Paul’s United Church Choir as well as the UCW. She enjoyed her Tim Horton’s morning coffee, gardening and most of all, being around her children. Bev is survived by her daughters: Heather McGrath (Michael) of Pleasant Ridge, and Lisa Folkins of Pleasant Ridge; son, Wayne Folkins (Carla Doyle) of Millstream; sister, Linda Fallon (Brian) of Grand Bay brothers: Philip Briggs (Patricia) of Richmond B.C. and Danny Briggs (Darlene Totten) of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Bev was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank, in 2009; sister, Patricia Bell; brother, Fred Briggs; and infant daughter, Janice.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home; a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00pm at the St. Paul’s United Church with Rev. Scott Hillier and Rev. Shawn Redden participating.

A private interment will be held in the Wesley United Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Paul’s United Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
