Obituary of Winston Eugene Teakles

Teakles, Winston Eugene, 94, of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on March 6, 2013. Born August 30, 1918 in Goshen, he was a son of the late Bliss and Sardea (nee DeMille) Teakles. Winston was a faithful member of the Faith Bible Baptist Fellowship, where he served as deacon in the church, Sunday school teacher, and Awana leader. He was also a member of the Golden K Club and the Day Away Club. He was a retired postal clerk, working for Canada Post for over 27 years. Winston also served the 4th Anti-Aircraft Regiment in England during World War II. He is survived by his daughters: Carol (Kenneth) Foster and Susan (Chris) Forgrave both of Sussex; son, Eugene Teakles of Sussex; sister, Doris Sears of Petitcodiac; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren two step-daughters; four step-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. Besides his parents, Winston was predeceased by his first wife, Mavis (nee Goater) Teakles; second wife, Dorothy (nee McEwen) Teakles; son, Hugh; and brother, Lloyd. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sussex Select Community Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm; the funeral service will be held on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 2pm at the Faith Bible Baptist Fellowship Church with Rev. Tim MacDonald presiding. Interment will be held in the Portage Vale Cemetery at a later date.
