Obituary of Harley Herbert Geldart

Harley Herbert Geldart passed away at the Sussex Health Center on October 12, 2014 at the age of 97. Born in Mapleton, NB on August 29, 1917, he was a son of the late Worden and Rachell (nee Garland) Geldart. Harley was a member of the Sussex United Baptist Church and a member of the First Elgin Baptist Church. He was a WWII Veteran, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20 and a Rotary member. Harley is survived by his son-in-law Jim Davis; grandchildren: Lori (Michael) Cameron of Rothesay, Troy (Tanya) Davis of Denton, Tx, and Ryan (Jane) Davis of Moncton; great- grandchildren: Ryan and Jared Cameron, Brandon and Danielle Davis, and Luke and Leah Davis; a close family friend Cindy Coates of Sussex; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his parents Harley was predeceased by his wife Nina L. (nee Steeves) Geldart; his daughter, Deborah Davis; sisters: Hildred Smith, Marguerite Harvey, and Dorothy Bannister; and by his brothers Reginald and Conrad Geldart. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Rd, Sussex, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A legion tribute will be held on Wednesday at 5:45 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 11:00 am at the Sussex Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Leo Gallant presiding.
