Obituary of Lillian J. RADCLIFFE
The death of Lillian Jean (Burlock) Radcliffe of Sussex occurred on September 4, 2008 at the age of 86. Lillian was born at Traveller’s Rest, PEI, a daughter of the late James and Eva Mae (Carr) Burlock and was the wife of the late Kenneth B. Radcliffe who passed away in 1987. She was a retired homemaker and seamstress. She and her husband Ken owned and operated “Ken’s Tobacco Shop” in Sussex in the 1940’s. Lillian was a member of Corn Hill United Baptist Church and the Corn Hill Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by her daughters Karen (Richard) Cripps of Sussex and Connie (Alcide) Clement of Norton, grandchildren; Shawn (Melanie) Cripps, Nelson Cripps (Ruby), Scott Clement and Christa (Jeff) Layman and five great grandchildren, half brother Raymond Burlock of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was predeceased by her sisters; Evelyn Anderson, her twin Loretta Burlock, Marjorie Burnett and two half sisters Hazel Blizzard and Thelma Davidson Smith. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Saturday from 3-8PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday September 7, 2008 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Hannah officiating. Interment will be at Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex. Donations made to the Corn Hill United Baptist Church Building Fund or the Kiwanis Nursing Home would be appreciated.
