Obituary of Edna Elizabeth Howe

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Edna Elizabeth Howe on June 24, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Eastwood, Nottingham, England on September 12, 1922, she was a daughter of the late William and Caroline (Williamson) Hart, and the wife of the late Reginald Howe. She resided in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, England until age six, when her family moved to Belleisle Creek in 1929. Edna and Reginald were married in 1945, and continued to reside in Belleisle Creek until 1972, when they sold the farm and built their new home in Roachville. In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was predeceased by her brother, Leonard Hart. She is survived by her son, Douglas (Mary Louise) of Calgary, AB; her daughter, Sandra Colwell (Alan) of Saint John, NB; her sister, Joan Renshaw of Halifax, NS; her grandchildren: Kimberly and David Howe, and Shawnee and Timothy Colwell; as well as by several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Edna was a member of Trinity Anglican Church in Sussex. She is resting at Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506-433-2133). Visiting will occur on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm; a celebration of Edna’s life, conducted by The Venerable David Barrett, will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex, NB on Tuesday June 28th at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held in Riverbank Cemetery. Donations in memory of Edna to the Trinity Anglican Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
