Obituary of Victor H. W. Pearson
It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Pearson announces his passing on December 4, 2005 at the Sussex Health Centre, after a brief struggle with cancer at the age of 86. Victor is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Evelyn Frances (Reinhart). Born in Saint John, NB to the late Henry William and Mildred Blanche (Stackhouse) Pearson. Victor grew up in Saint John. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his wife, four daughters and their husbands, Barbara (Burt Crealock) of Pearsonville, Joan (Fred Thorpe) of Quispamsis, Pauline (Jack Crealock) of Pearsonville and Mary Ellen (Donald Duke) of Quispamsis, ten grandchildren; Glenna, Crailey, Victoria, Crystal, Angelia, Jonathan, Matthew, Jo-Ellen, Jennifer and Chantal, great grandchildren; Theoren, Thayne, Kristina, Gregory, Landon, Brody and Taylor and several nieces and nephews. Victor was the last surviving member of his family. He was predeceased by his sisters, Florence Gale, Rose Frawley, Grace Evelyn Pearson, Merle Greenfield and brother Melbourne Otis. Victor enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping at the Pine Cone, playing his musical instruments and listening to Country Western Music. He was a past member of the NB Masonic Lodge. After serving in the Canadian Army with No.17 Provalcorp Company, Victor joined the Saint John Police Force on July 26, 1943; retiring with the rank of Inspector after thirty years. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2005 at 2:00 in the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home Chapel by nephew Jock Otis. A private family interment will take place at Salt Springs Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Salt Springs Cemetery or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
