Joan Ruth Lisson of Sussex passed away peacefully on June 6, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 81. Born in Penobsquis on January 23, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Agusta (nee McQuinn) Morton, and the loving wife to the late Donald Gordon Lisson. Joan is survived by her son Daryl (Debbie) Lisson of Fredericton; three grandchildren: Dylan (Melanie) of Quispamsis, Dean (Jillian) of Saint John, and Devan of Fredericton; five great-grandchildren: Sydney, Quinn, Cali, Jack and Drew; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides her parents and husband, Joan was predeceased by her son Reverend Stephen Lisson and daughter Sharon Lisson; brothers: Roy, Robert, Michael, Eldon and Daryl; and sister Dorothy. As per Joan’s wishes there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in Evergreen Memorial Gardens on June 11th at 11:00 am with Jeanette Cosman presiding. There will be a time of gathering at Sussex Select Community Funeral Home immediately following the service. Donations to Cerebral Palsy would be appreciated by the family.
