Obituary of Delbert Ashley Hayes

The death of Delbert Ashley Hayes of Carsonville occurred December 6, 2003 at his home. He was born August 28, 1930 at Summerfield, NB a son of the late Warren and Iola (Boyd) Hayes. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Thelma Constance (Mason) Hayes, daughters Debbie Benson (Tony) of Sussex, Sherri Townsend of Fredericton, Jean Hayes of Carsonville, Thelma Folkins (Cecil) of Mount Middleton and Heather Dalling (Gregg) of Waterford, sons Warren (Brenda) Hayes of Woodstock, Danny Hayes, Everett (Dale) Hayes and David Hayes all of Carsonville, eighteen grandchildren, Tony, Kevin and Matthew McMinniman, Scott, Nathan, Andrew and Charity Benson, Michelle Townsend, Bradley, Crystal and Carla Hayes, Christopher, Emma and Joshua Hayes, Mark and Jake Folkins, Dax and Devon Dalling, eight great grandchildren, Taylor, Alexandra, Jordan and Talia McMinniman, Nicholas and Austin McMinniman, Anthony and Victoria Benson, sister Erma Sears (Wayne) of Salisbury, brothers Gordon (Isabel) Hayes of Millstream, Blake (Jean) Hayes of Saint John, Perley (Carlen) Hayes of Bloomfield and Arnold (Georgina) Hayes of Pollett River, mother-in-law Bernice Mason of Carsonville, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter Valerie Bernice, great granddaughter Gabrielle and a sister Glenna Hayes. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 7:30 to 9:30 and on Monday from 2-4 and 7:30-9:30 PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday December 9, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Sussex Wesleyan Church. Reverend Stephen Bradley officiating. Interment will be at the Head of Millstream Wesleyan Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Oncology Department of the Saint John Regional Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
