Alice Alma Mitton, 82, of Sussex Corner passed away at the Mill Cove Nursing Home on April 5, 2017. Born in Millbrook, Alice was a daughter of the late William and Martha (nee MacFarland) Proctor, and the wife of the late Earl Mitton. Alice is survived by her children: Joanne Gregg (Junior) of Jeffries Corner, Russell Mitton (Allyson) of Dutch Valley, and Richard Mitton (Eunice) of Mechanic Settlement; her brother Nelson Proctor of Desaranto, ON; her sister Viola Gall of Fort Qu’Appell, SK; grandchildren: Michael Gregg (Jenny Holder), Jodie Mitton (Jan), Roma Lee Myers (Anthony), Sarah Madden (Mike) and Jessica McGibbon (Joel); great-grandchildren: Reese, Willow, Lola, Hailey, Jordon, Chase, Ty, Nolan, Jonah, and Madalynn, Abagail, and Landon; as well as by many extended family members and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Alice was predeceased by her granddaughter Leslie Gregg; sisters: Irene O’Neal and Clara Buchanan; her brothers: Murray, Russell and Phillip Proctor; and by her foster brother Wilson Plummer. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133), from where visitation will be held on Saturday April 8 from 3-8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Sunday April 9 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Jeanette Cosman presiding. Interment will be held in the Trinity Anglican Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Activity Dept. of the Mill Cove Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
