Obituary of Marguerite Armstrong
Armstrong Marguerite (Marnie) Iris … Marguerite “Marnie” Armstrong, 94, of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Born in Sussex, Marnie was the daughter of the late John and Harriett (nee Jeffries) Armstrong. Marnie was a graduate of the Royal Victoria Hospital, in Montreal in 1942 and served overseas in World War II with the Royal Canadian Medical Corps. After the war she worked with DVA and DND, and belonged to the Nursing Sisters Association of Canada. She was a recipient of the Centennial Medal and also the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. She returned to Sussex in 1992, and enjoyed spending her time knitting, doing needle point and hooking rugs. Marnie is survived by her many cousins, including special cousin Audrey Oulton of Sussex and many friends. Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11am at Trinity Anglican Church. Interment will take place in Trinity Cemetery. In memory of Marnie, remembrances to any charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
