The death of Ralph Brock LeMurray Hawkes of Sussex Corner occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on December 24, 2010 at the age of 91. Born in Waterford, a son of the late Allan and Genevive (Flewelling) Hawkes. Ralph is survived by his wife of 70 years D. Eileen (Walker) Hawkes, son Ralph (Sherry) Hawkes of Berwick, grandchildren; Patty (Bill) Howe, Stephen Hawkes, Susan (John) Pearson, Kathy (Marc) Mullin, Nick Lisson and Nathan Lisson, eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Ralph was predeceased by his sister Zeta Hawkes. Ralph was a veteran of WWII having served with the army as a Craftsman. He was a member of Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion, Zion Lodge #21 F & AM and the Royal Arch Masons Chapter 9, as well as the Sussex Vale Golden “K”. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Masonic Lodge #21 F&AM will hold a tribute Monday evening at 6:30PM and Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute Monday evening at 6:45PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 28, 2010 at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Sussex Corner at 2:00PM with Reverend Allen Tapley officiating.
