Obituary of Milford Douglas Parlee

Parlee, Milford “Red” Douglas, 82 of Sussex Corner passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 26, 2015. Born in Sussex, he was a son of the late Charles Parlee, Ella Mae (nee Mills), and Kathleen (nee Duncan). Milford worked at several different jobs over the years, from “pools to pop”. He was a generous person, who built several elaborate dollhouses which were raffled off with the proceeds going to charity. He also built many puzzles and toys for children. He will be greatly missed by his many friends at Tim Hortons. Milford is survived by his wife Katherine “Kathy” Parlee (nee Gallant); his daughters: Carol Hawkes (Don) of Sussex, Brenda Anderson (Allison) of Sussex Corner, Lorna Lawson of Red Deer, AB, Gail Carson (Darrell) of Salem, NB, Krista Wilson (Ray) of Souris, BC, and Lisa Parlee (Dave) of Calgary, AB; his sons: Michael Parlee (Patricia) of Lower Sackville, NS, and Gary Parlee of Southfield, NB; his other children: Diane Desruisseau of Hampton, Janice Hartley (Darren) of Mississauga, ON, Nancy Hartley (Kevin) of Orangeville, ON, Stephen Wilson (Sharon) of Quispamsis, NB, Tyrone Wilson of Moncton, Janet Walsh (Mark) of Smithtown, NB, and Natalie Malcolm (Walter) of Edmonton, AB; his brother Paul Parlee (Alice)of Gondola Point; as well as by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, Milford was predeceased by his wives: Shirley (nee Voutour) and Freda (nee Chambers); his sister Myrtle Donaldson; and his brother Raymond Parlee. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, from where visitation will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2015 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 29 at 11:00am in the Sussex Select Chapel with Rev. Gene Fisher presiding.
