Obituary of Gertrude Emmeline Titus
Mrs. Gertrude Emmeline (Seeley) Titus, of Roachville, NB, passed away on October 31st, 2016 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Londonderry, NB on October 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice (Black) Seeley and wife of the late Sterling Hedley Titus who passed away in 2009. Gertrude’s family always came first; they were her pride and joy. She enjoyed knitting and quilting. She was the oldest member of the Kennebecasis Valley Women’s Institute, a member of the Sussex Baptist Church, a member of its Fidelity Class and the last surviving Christened member of the Londonderry Chapel. Gertrude is survived by her children: Earl Titus of Roachville, Jean MacDonald (Jeff) of Sussex Corner, Karen Embree (Eugene) of Goodsoil, SK, Ernie Titus (Donna) of Sussex, Ron Titus (Murielle) of Irishtown, Ivan Titus (Mary Jean) of Plumweseep, Anne Kennedy (Rick) of Hampton, Barb Carll (Ken) of Knightville, Donnie Titus (Tracy) of Sussex, Carol Muir (Brian) of Sackville and Wayne Titus (Earlene) of Geary; grandchildren: Kelly, Margaret, Ronald, Steven, Amanda, Heather, Mathieu, Jimmy, Becky, Allison, Emily, Danielle, Caroline, Mike, Jason, Justin, Katie, Maria, Jill, Laura, Ryan, Sarah, Thomas, Hannah and Josiah; great grandchildren: Lauren, Leah, Nick, Vanessa, Donovan, Jensen and Gwyneth; great great grandchildren: Madisyn, Bentley, Lily and Arya; her sisters: Freda Wilbur (Glen) of Delhi, ON and Ruth Floyd (Stewart) of Sussex; her brother Vernon Seeley (Betty) of Wards Creek and her special cousin Willis Walker as well as several nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her grandson Mark Carll in 1995; her sisters: Vera Tabor and Althea Lawrence; her brothers: Walter, Lloyd, Gerald and Ronald Seeley. Arrangements are in the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506) 433-2133. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A service celebrating Gertrude’s life will be held on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 at the Sussex Baptist Church at 11:00am followed by a time of fellowship with the family.
