Obituary of Miriam Clara Killam

Killam, Miriam Clara, 93 of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Sussex Health Center on August 13, 2014. Born in Brighton, England, she was a daughter to the late William and Gertrude (nee Howick) Newnham and the wife of the late Lee Howard Killam. Miriam was a veteran of WWII in which she served with the British Women’s Army. She was a member of the Anagance United Church and of the Anagance Women’s Institute. She was a member of the L.O.B.A #858, Moncton and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #41, Petitcodiac from where she also enjoyed playing in the crib league. Miriam is survived by her daughters: Jacqueline Miller (Norm), Lynda Davidge (Allen), Gwen Cooper (Barry) and Gail Tower (Mike); her sons: Lee (Gayla), Kenneth (Bonnie), Robert (Miriam), Gerald (Cathy), Carl (Adrienne) and Robin Killam; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild as well as a number of extended family and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Miriam was predeceased by her two daughters: Prudence and June; and by her daughter-in-law Jo-Ann Killam Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, (506)756-3361. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 2:00pm with Rev. Cecil Symes presiding, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Sussex Vale Transition House would be appreciated by the family.
