Obituary of Donald Gordon Lisson
Donald Gordon Lisson November 19, 2011 LISSON, DONALD GORDON; Major RCAF / CF Retired OMM, CD (1934-2011). Donald passed away quietly on November 19th at Sussex N.B. He was the son of Eva and the late Gordon Lisson of Sussex, N.B.. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Morton) Sussex; son Daryl (Debbie) Fredericton; grandchildren Dylan (Melanie) Fredericton; Dean (Jillian) Saint John and Devan Sweden; Mother Eva Sussex; brother Kenneth (Doris) Saint John; sister Bertha (Vernon) Stockton Burlington, Ontario; and Freda (Gordon) Cunningham Sussex; three great grand children and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was pre deceased by his son Reverend Stephen Lisson and daughter Sharon. Donald served in the RCAF / Canadian Forces for 30 years during which he received several medals and awards including the “Officer of the Order of Military Merit”. Donald was a quiet and kind man. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grand-father. Although he always carried the pain of losing a son and daughter, he was the type of person that you could always depend to be there and would not hesitate to lend a helping hand to those who needed it without seeking any form of recognition. Upon retirement he became a member of the St. Paul’s’ United Church and Branch 20 Royal Canadian Legion, Sussex, volunteering for several committees. Funeral arrangements have been arranged by Sussex Select Community Funeral Home as requested by Donald. There will be no service or visitation except for a private family service to be held on Wednesday, November 23rd.
