Obituary of Donald Wayne Howe
Mr. Donald "Wayne" Howe of Knightville passed away on October 3, 2016 at the Sussex Health Centre. Wayne was born on January 16, 1944 in Saint John, NB and was the son of the late William Robert John and Myrtle Dorthia (Stone) Howe and husband to the late Dorothy (Monckton) Howe who passed away on April 9, 2013.
Wayne was a member of the Queen’s Militia as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a true country boy at heart, and even though he lived in Ontario for many years, he still thought of New Brunswick as home. Wayne loved the outdoors and spent much of his time camping, hunting and fishing. In the winter he enjoyed watching hockey and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his children: John Howe (Jaime) of Saskatoon, Dave Howe of Ontario, Teresa Howe (Rob) of Brantford, ON and Melissa McLean (Mike) of Cambridge, ON; the mother of his children, Ann Ronaldson (James) of Orangeville, ON; his brother Fred Howe; his sisters: Sandra Gommer of Grand Bay, NB and Winnifred Rogers of NB; his best friend from childhood Joe Coull of Toronto; his grandchildren: Cody, Skylar, Tara, Brianna, Keanu, Nathan, Krystal, Kyle, Trisha and Thomas; his great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Zoey, Avah and Kiera; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family
Wayne was predeceased by his sisters: Norma Wilson, Anne Enman, Dorothy Buchenel, Jean LeBreton and Betty Doyle as well as his brothers Ronald and Buster (William).
Arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506) 433-2133. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:00pm. Interred at Pine Grove Cemetery beside his brother Ronald Howe.
