The death of Doris Mary (Bell) MacDonald of Hammondvale, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on April 26, 2007 at the age of 85. Born on the Cumberland Road, New Line, NB a daughter of the late Leslie and Margaret (Forsythe) Bell. Doris was the wife of the late Malcolm MacDonald who passed away April 17, 1996. She is survived by sons; Gerald (Clara) and Ronald, all of Hammondvale, grandchildren Juanita, Trevor (Sarah Littlejohn) and Melanie (Nick Munford), her sister Nina Snider of Sussex and sister-in-law Hattie (Otty) Adair of Smiths Creek and several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her husband and infant brother Raymond. Doris was a faithful member of the Anglican Parish of St. Marks and a member of the Hammond River Valley Seniors. She enjoyed knitting, card parties and word searches. She loved music and dancing. She was a graduate of Mount Allison University in 1940. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Friday from 7-9PM and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday April 29, 2007 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Allen Tapley officiating. Interment will be at the Hammondvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
