Obituary of Stewart W. Steeves
Stewart W. Steeves, son of the late Walter and Azora (nee Graves) Steeves, was born in Steeves Settlement, NB on January 18, 1931.
He was promoted to glory on Thursday July 6, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis; his three children: Walter (Lucy) Steeves of Tuscaloosa, AL, Gloria (Tom) Peryea of Plattsburgh, NY, and David (Terry) Steeves of Pictou, NS; three grandchildren: Greg (Robin) Steeves of Hoover, AL, Jenna and Morgan Steeves of Halifax, NS; two step-grandchildren: Guy (Elaine) Peryea and Becky (Craig) Tromblay, and one great-grandson, Brady Trombley, all of Plattsburgh, NY; three sisters: Genevieve (David) Ingersoll of Browns Flat, NB, Luda Lewis of Okanagan Falls, BC, and Joann Rogers of Salisbury, NB; sister-in-law Joan (Ron) Wilkinson of Phoenix, AZ; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Walter Steeves; his mother, Azora (nee Graves) Steeves Lounsbury; his step-father Earle Lounsbury; and by his son Ronnie Steeves.
Rev. Steeves was an ordained elder of the Wesleyan Church, serving 62 years as pastor and evangelist. He was loved by many as he shared his God given talents in many churches across Eastern and Central Canada and USA.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133). Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm … 2:30 pm on Monday July 10, 2017, followed by the service celebrating his life at 3:00 pm, all at the Beulah Tabernacle, Browns Flat, NB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honour to Atlantic District Camping (229 Beulah Road, Browns Flat, NB E5M 2R5), World Hope, or a charity of your choice.
