Flossie Marie Powell (nee Robinson), 97, of Sussex, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on September 20, 2016. Born in South Branch, she was a daughter of the late James & Catherine (nee McGarrigle) Robinson. Flossie retired from the Sussex Health Centre. She was a lifetime member of the St. Paul’s United Church UCW. She will be greatly missed by her children: Joan Folkins (late Ronald) of Sussex, Carl Powell (Joan) of Mt. Middleton, Catherine Roy (Donald) of Bathurst, and Susan Adair (late Lawrence) of Millbrook; as well as by sixteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, Flossie was predeceased by husband Arthur Powell in September, 1958; her triplet daughters: Nancy Jane and two other daughters in infancy in February, 1959; her sons: David Powell in 2001 and Ronald Powell in 2015; and by 14 brothers and sisters. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Rd., Sussex, NB. As per Flossie’s request, all services are private for her family only.
