The death of George Frederick “Fred” Allen of Sussex occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on March 23, 2010 at the age of 85. Born in Urney, NB, a son of the late Bernard and Flossie (Law) Allen. Fred is survived by his sister Mary Robinson of Corbeil, ON, brother; Charles (Faye) Allen of Butler, Indiana, sister-in-law Kathleen Allen of New Line, nieces; Ruth Allen of Butler, Indiana, Judy (Otis) Best of Corbeil, Ontario and their children; Elliott, Joey and Ashley, Jeanette (Edmond) Gallant of Garnett Settlement and their children; Michael and Tyler, June (Bennie) Donaldson of Saint John and their children; Scott, Kara, Barbara and Benjamin, nephews; Douglas (Mary) Allen of Sussex and their children; Mary Jayne, Donna, Gennyne and Hod, Richard (Sue) Allen of Houlton, Maine and their children; Matthew and Julie. Fred was predeceased by his parents and brothers John Allen and Bill Allen. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 2-5PM and Monday from 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 30, 2010 at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Donations made to the Creightonville Cemetery or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
