Obituary of George Irvine Chambers
The death of George Irvine Chambers of Dutch Valley occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 15, 2006 at the age of 86. Born at Sussex, a son of the late Irvine and Florence (Loughery) Chambers. George was a Veteran of WWII serving with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline I. (Parlee) Chambers, daughters; Esther Mason (Mike), Alabama, Linda Fleming (Reed), Saint John, Betty Dobbelsteyn (Russell) and Heather Spicer (Dale) both of Dutch Valley, sons; Bob Chambers (Elizabeth), Quispamsis, Harold Chambers (Valery), Newtown and Roy Chambers, Dutch Valley, 17 grandchildren; Patrick, Sara and Elizabeth Mason, David and Judith Fleming, Tim Chambers (Katie), Becky Hartwell (Lyle), Ben and Laura Chambers, Jonathan, Alicia and Michael Dobbelsteyn, Patty, Cindy and Colin Chambers, Megan and Matthew Spicer and one great granddaughter Nora Kathleen Chambers, sister Jean Murray, Picadilly and brothers Douglas Chambers (Alberta), Sussex and Leonard Chambers, South River, ON as well as several nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by a grandson James Fleming and sister Ruth Jonah. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute Wednesday evening 6:45 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Sussex Corner Thursday October 19, 2006 at 11:00 AM with The Reverend Allen Tapley officiating. Interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Anglican Church Army or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
