Obituary of Milton Flynn Marr

Milton Flynn Marr of Corn Hill passed away peacefully, with his wife and daughter by his side, at the Moncton City Hospital on April 16, 2015, at the age of 92. Born in Manhurst on December 28, 1922, he was a son to the late Garth Beverly Marr and Gladys Jane (nee Rouse) Marr. He resided in Corn Hill all his life where he loved to fish and hunt and also acted as a guide for fish and games for 64 years. He loved working in the woods. He was the Postmaster in Corn Hill and ran Marr’s General Store for 17 years. He always had a big garden and sold produce to the wholesalers and grocery stores. He raised hens and even foxes and also managed the Corn Hill Aces baseball team. He was always telling stories of his childhood and the mischief he was always getting into, making everyone laugh. Milton is survived by his caring wife Peechy (nee Smith) Marr; his three daughters: Lorna Jane Marr of Fredericton, Ruth Peechy Campbell of Fredericton and Ruby Ann Dempsey of Burnaby, BC; his sisters: Mona Caldwell (Fred) of Hartland and Joyce McPhee of Penobsquis; his brother Carl Marr (Lois) of Corn Hill; as well as eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Milton was predeceased by his brother Daryl and sisters: Marjorie, Bernice, Doris and Audrey. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2-4pm and the funeral service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 2:00pm with Pastor James Hannah presiding all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date. Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
