Obituary of Iris Marie Justason
“Her home is in Heaven, she was just traveling through this world”. It is with great sadness that we, as a family, announce Iris Marie Justason, 66, of Sussex Corner, NB, passed away on April 10, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Iris was the loving wife of Dr. Stephen Justason, caring mother of Melissa McKinnon, Tyler McKinnon and Jason McKinnon, with whom she is now reunited with, Ronnie King, and Belinda King and an ever so proud grandmother to Savannah, Kiana, and Brian. Iris was known for her great faith in God and loved her family, friends, and animals with her whole heart. She loved to sing and laugh. Her laugh could be heard for miles and you couldn’t help but laugh along with her. She enjoyed gardening and being outside on her property and creating new projects. She was ambitious and full of life and brought kindness wherever she traveled. She was a true inspiration and touched so many hearts during her journey. Iris was survived by her mother, Callie (Bunn) Drane, Sussex,; brother: Wallace Bunn Sr. of BC; Michael Drane (Susan) of Willow Grove; David J. Drane, Sussex; Christopher Drane (Juanita) of Sussex,; sisters: Laurel Teehan (Walter) of Waterford; Lynn Sullivan (Kevin) of Sussex; Callie Canrinus of Sussex; Ruth Erb (William) of Poodiac; Autumn Whitaker (Donald) of Grand Bay; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father, Michael A. Drane; son; Jason McKinnon; brothers: Stephen Drane, Andrew Drane, and Shawn Drane. Arrangements are in the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506) 433-2133 from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12th, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. On Thursday, April 13th, 2017 there will be visitation from 12-2pm followed by a celebration of Iris’s life in the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home Chapel. The family is forever grateful for all the support from friends, family, the community of Sussex, the staff and Dr’s at the Sussex Health Centre and Saint John Regional Hospital.
