The death of Shirley Elizabeth (Lutes) Spencer of Sussex occurred February 23, 2008 at the Sussex Health Centre at the age of 77. Born in Moncton, a daughter of the late Ross and Greta (Brewster) Lutes. Shirley was the wife of the late William J. Spencer who passed away in 2001. She is survived by daughters Lynn Clark (Fred) of Saint John, Debbie Spencer (George Proctor) of Fredericton and Jane Brown (Douglas) of Sussex Corner, her son Clifford Spencer (Claudette) of Moncton, grandchildren; Christopher Clark (Cindy), Mark Clark (Johanna), Scott Spencer, Megan Brown and Jennifer Hogan, great grandchildren; Rebecca, Gillian, Brandon and Riley Clark, sister Doris Mitchell and brother Wendell Lutes both of Ontario. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by a sister Frances Danaluk. There will be no visitation by request. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Tuesday February 26, 2008 at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) at 2:00PM with Reverend Bob Hussey officiating. Interment will be at Trinity Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to the St. Paul’s Benevolent Fund would be appreciated.
