Willis Joseph Murphy, 68, passed away at his residence on March 15, 2012. Born in Pearsonville, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (nee Dibble) Murphy. Willis was a truck driver his entire life; trucking was in his blood and was his life. He was employed by Fanjoy Transport for more than 40 years and also worked part time for R&G Transport for many years. He made many friends and had lots of trucking stories to tell. He is survived by his wife, Jane Vale, Pugwash; his sons: Darren (Judy) Murphy of Sussex, and Patrick Vale of Pugwash, N.S.; Brothers: Doug (Liz) Murphy of Lower Millstream, Lewis (Debbie) Murphy of Smith Creek, Philip Murphy of Collina; sisters: Jean Murphy of Pearsonville, Muriel (Allan) Smith of Lower Millstream, Diana Murphy of Pearsonville, and Isobel Vey of Sussex; Grandchildren: Ryan, Marina, and Tyler; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Willis was predeceased by his brothers: Merton and Raymond. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sussex Select Community Funeral Home. There will be no visitation or funeral service as per Willis’ request. Donations to the Sussex Extra Mural Nurses or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
