The death of Donald Whitfield Ferris of Sussex occurred on August 14, 2003. Born at Grand Lake, NB on January 7, 1922 a son of the late Ensley and Pearl Ferris. Donald is survived by his wife Jean (Delaney) Ferris, daughter Patricia Rafuse (Ken) of Moncton and son Wayne (Pat) Ferris of Calgary, AB, six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters Florence Jones of Kars, Leona Williams of Saint John and brother Ottie Ferris (Alice) of Grand Lake, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Ethel Barton and Viola Vail. Don worked for the NB Telephone Company for 41 years. He loved his family and Mandy dearly, was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday August 18th, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex, with The Reverend David Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
