Obituary of Lloyd H. McFarlane
The death of Lloyd Harold McFarlane of Plumweseep, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on September 25, 2005 at the age of 74.
Born in Millbrook, NB a son of the late Robert and Effie (Anderson) McFarlane and step-mother Mary (Hunter) McFarlane.
He was a member of the Salvation Army Church, the Korean Veteran's Association and Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion. Lloyd spent 23 and a half years with the Canadian Armed Forces. He joined in Sussex with the Carleton York Regiment then went to Korea for ten months and became a member of the Canadian Guards and then to Princess Louise's 8th Hussars for the remainder of his career, having spent two tours in Germany and six months in Egypt. One of Lloyd's favorite pass times was to watch and feed the birds.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 and a half years, Eileen (Murray) McFarlane, children Elaine MacDougall (James) Oxford, NS, Debbie Branscombe (Ivan) Cornhill, son Jamie McFarlane at home, daughter-in-law Mary McFarlane, Sussex, grandchildren Angel, Joe, Greg, Becky, Cassie, Ryan, Chelsea, Megan, Nathan, Sandy and Toni, great grandchildren Shelby, Damien and Carlie, sisters Phyllis Proctor, Plumweseep and Anne Thorne (Robert), Moncton, brothers Nelson (Darlene) McFarlane, Plumweseep and Edward (Ruby) McFarlane, Waterford, several nieces and nephews and his pals Quincy and Misha.
He was predeceased by daughter Beth Anne McFarlane, son Cecil McFarlane, sisters Edris Fudge and Linda Nelson and brothers Donald Raymond and Gordon McFarlane.
The family would like to thank Dr. McCutcheon and Nurses at the Sussex Health Centre, as well as the Extra Mural Nurses, Therapists and Respirologist.
At Lloyd's request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
A private family interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park, Sussex.
