Obituary of Elmer Earl Gailey
The death of Elmer Earl Gailey of Apohaqui occurred on January 25, 2004. Born in Queensville, NB on August 29, 1930 a son of the late George and Victoria (Mason) Gailey. He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Otis) Gailey, daughters Debby Sprague (Rodney) of Midland and Dale Hayes (Everett) of Carsonville, son Doug (Janet) Gailey of Grand Forks, BC, grandchildren Jeff, Carrie and Kelly Gailey, Ryan and Kyle Sprague and Christopher, Emma and Josh Hayes, sisters Shirley (Garfield) Perry of Sussex, Glenna (Richard) Boyd of Belleisle, brothers Arnold (Doreen) Wood of Sussex, Daryle (Ann) Wood of Cranbrook, BC, sister-in-law Eleanor Gailey of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather Ed Wood and brothers Hartley, Talbert, Wesley and Emmerson. Elmer loved his grandchildren and visits with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Elmer worked for Shur Gain for 34 years. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held Wednesday January 28, 2004 at 2:00 PM in the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Peter Hayes officiating. Interment will be at Riverbank Cemetery in the spring. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
