Obituary of Pauline J. Thompson

Thompson, Pauline J., 69, of Sussex, passed away on December 10, 2011 at home surrounded by those who loved her. Born in Sussex, she was a daughter of Phyllis Green and the late Hazen Carr. Pauline was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch Sussex Branch # 20; she will always be fondly remembered as a very giving, compassionate, community-minded lady whom asked for nothing in return. Pauline is survived by her husband, Lawrence Vyne Thompson; her mother, Phyllis Green; her children: Pamela Lewis (Jim), Anthony “Tony” Thompson (Lisa), and Janet Klassen (Dietrich); her sisters: Barbara Gilchrist (Sterling), and Kelly Fillmore (Jim); her brothers: Earl Green (Raymonde), and Fraser Green (Beth); grandson, Owen Klassen; step-grandchildren: Marie, Travis, Joy, & Peter; step-great-grandchildren: Tyler, Lukas, Channon, & Lilly; brother-in-law, Lowell Thompson (Jean); as well as by several nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her father, Hazen Carr; her step-father, Douglas Green; her sister, Joan Green; and her brother, George Carr. Visitation will be held on Monday December 12, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm; the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 will be holding a tribute service on Monday at 6:45 pm, all at the Sussex Select Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex,. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday December 13, 2011 at 10:00 am in St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church with Father Arnie Hachey presiding. Interment will be held in the Wards Creek Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
