The death of John Bernard Allen of Sussex occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 5, 2007 at the age of 90. Born at Urney, NB he was a son of the late J. Bernard and Flossie (Law) Allen. John is survived by his wife of more than 61 years Kathleen (Burrell) Allen, their son; Douglas (Mary) Allen of Sussex Corner, four grandchildren; Mary Jane (Ross) McNary, Donna (Kevin) Kennedy, Gennyne (Ronald) Sharpe and Hod Allen, eight great grandchildren; Casey, Jeffrey, Katie, Mark, Jalise, Travis, Mikelle, Marcia, a sister Mary Robinson of Corbeil, ON, brothers; Bill Allen of Red Head, NB, Charles (Faye) Allen of Butler, Indiana and Frederick Allen of Sussex, as well as nieces and nephews. John served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday November 8, 2007 at the funeral home chapel at 1:30 PM. Interment will be at Creightonville Cemetery.
