The death of Ernest Edward Friars of Wards Creek, NB occurred on August 10, 2005 in Sussex at the age of 77. Ernest was born at Wards Creek, the son of the late Arthur Christopher and Eva Loring (Richardson) Friars. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth “Liz” DeMerchant and her husband Donald of Fredericton and nephews Bill, Paul and Peter DeMerchant and their families. Ernest spent the majority of his working life at Base Gagetown (1958-1985) where he was a civil servant with the Black Watch. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Friday from 2-5 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday August 13, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex. Interment will be at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
