Green, Phyllis Marcella, 90, of Apohaqui, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on February 17, 2015. Born on October 31, 1924 in Head of Millstream, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Jessie (nee Northrup) Murphy. She was a devout member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Phyllis was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Gilchrist (Sterling) of Quispamsis and Kelly Fillmore (Jim) of Norton; her sons: Earl Green (Raymonde) of Apohaqui and Fraser Green (Beth) of Sussex; thirteen grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her son-in-law Lawrence Thompson of Sussex; as well as by many extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husbands: Douglas F. Green in 1983 and by Hazen Carr; her daughters: Joan Green in April, 2009, and Pauline Thompson in December, 2011; her son George Carr in April, 2004; her brothers: George, Hawlie, Frederick, and Preston Murphy; her sisters: Eunice Coleman and Irene Fenton. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, from where a private family visitation will be held on Thursday February 19, 2015 from 7-9 pm. A time of public visitation will be held on Friday February 20, 2015 from 9 … 11 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. There will be an opportunity to visit with the family in the adjoining hall immediately following the service. Interment will be held in the Wards Creek Cemetery at a later date.
