WHITESIDE, Dennis R. The death of Dennis Roger Whiteside of Calgary, Alberta occurred on June 24, 2009 at the age of 61. Born in Duncan, BC, he was a son of Mary “Polly” (Burrows) Whiteside of Sussex and the late Stanley Whiteside. As well as his mother, Dennis is survived by his daughters; Tracy Booth (Robert) and Heather Kincade (Doug), all of Sussex and son Michael Whiteside (fiancé Miranda Murray) of Wards Creek and their mother Arletta Whiteside of Plumweseep, 3 grandchildren Jamie Denise, Christopher and Emily, his brother Glen Whiteside (Jill Greenly) of Lantzville, BC and several nieces and nephews. Dennis was predeceased by his father and a brother Allan Burrows Whiteside. Dennis attended SAIT, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and received his certificates in plumbing, pipe fitting, gas fitting and instrumentation. He was very proud of his family and was known as a man of his word, he enjoyed a good time and loved to fish. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Monday from 6-9PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday June 30, 2009 at 1:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Donations made to any local charity would be appreciated by the family.
