Obituary of Florence E. Arnold

Our Dear Mom, Florence Arnold of Newline Rd, Sussex, NB passed away peacefully on May 5 at the Sussex Kiwanis Nursing Home at the age of 94. In 1920 she was born in Mount Middleton to Matthew and Emma (Nicholson) Robinson and had 12 brothers and sisters. Florence Arnold was the loving wife of 68 years to Everett Arnold who passed away only hours later. She is survived by her children: Glenna (Keith), Jim (Carol) and Steven; grandchildren: Kerry (Blair), Jason (Lisa), Heather (Mike), Carla, Erin (Darren), Aaron (Courtney), Colby, Anne, Jason and Shania; great-grandchildren: Isabella, Ty, Benjamin, Gretchen, Chase and Elsa; brother and sisters-in-law: Elsie Robinson, Harold Arnold, Dorothy Jones and Lillian Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter Lois and son Ross; grandson Matthew and great-granddaughter Brynn; sisters: Gladys Bickford, Rena Riedle, Marjorie Berry, Bertha Day, Elva Alcorn, Edna Robinson and Eleanor Arnold; brothers: Clarence, Willard, Ralph, John and Raymond Robinson. Florence loved her family and was much loved in return. She loved family get-togethers and enjoyed her grandchildren immensely. She always looked forward to her weekly walks with friends: Marg Tait, Anne Candy and Lois Raven. Florence and Everett enjoyed many happy times with Edna and Frank Walker. Florence loved God and saw his beauty in the nature around her. She and Everett spent many afternoons driving around the countryside and they also loved their walks up over the hill. Her grandchildren will always remember the yearly Easter egg hunts that she would host. Florence was a member of St. John’s United Church, Sussex Corner. She will be Greatly Missed. The family wishes to thank the Kiwanis Nursing Home Staff for the excellent care of their parents during their stay. Florence is resting at Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, from where visitation will be held on May 8, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. John’s United Church, Sussex Corner on May 9, at 2:00pm with Rev. Eugene Fisher presiding. Interment will take place at the Kirk Hill Cemetery.
