Obituary of Reginald George Howe

The death of Reginald George Howe occurred on Thursday March 1, 2007 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex at the age of 88. He was a son of the late Alexander and Catherine (Follis) Howe. He was born in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland on July 7, 1918. He came to Canada in May of 1928. He is survived by his beloved wife Edna (Hart) Howe of 62 years, his son Douglas (Mary Louise) Howe of Calgary, his daughter Sandra (Alan) Colwell of Musquash, four grandchildren Kimberly, David, Shawnee and Timothy, sisters Anna McAleese of Lower Millstream, Lena Young of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Rachel Hermann (Paul) of Nanoose Bay, BC and Violet Wright of Halifax, brothers Ivan of Lower Millstream and John of Quispamsis, sisters-in-law Jessie Howe of Armdale, NS, Shirley Howe and Hilda Howe both of Sussex and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Kathleen (Mabel) Howe and Sarah Hickey and brothers William, Alexander and Thomas. He was a member of Trinity Anglican Church in Sussex. He was a well respected and dependable man with a compassionate heart. He was also there to lend a helping hand and assist anyone in their time of need. He highly valued his family especially his grandchildren and the many friends he made during his lifetime. He will be greatly missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday March 5, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex with The Reverend David Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Riverbank Cemetery in the spring. Donations made to the Trinity Church Organ Fund, in lieu of flowers, would be appreciated.
