Allen, Earl Russell, of Sussex, passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice in Saint John on January 24, 2015 at the age of 41. Born in Saint John on January 29, 1973, he was a son of Percy Allen and the late Connie (nee Neves) Allen, and the loving husband of Edie Cripps-Allen. Earl is survived by his father Percy Allen; wife Edie Allen; his sons: Michael Allen and Tanner Cripps Allen; his step-son James Cripps Nash; his sister Loretta Lavoie; and his brothers: Gary, Roger, John (Kim), and Percy Allen. Earl enjoyed hunting and fishing as well many other outdoor activities. He loved spending time with his family, and rather enjoyed the spur of the moment drives and picnics. Earl was not afraid to get his hands dirty and enjoyed getting greasy while working on vehicles. He had a caring heart and would help anybody who needed it. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held in the Sussex Select Chapel on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00am with Pastor David McElhinney presiding.
