Obituary of Hedley Thomas Parlee

The death of Hedley Thomas Parlee of Sussex occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on November 11, 2003. Hedley was born at Knightville, NB April 18, 1911 a son of the late Chesley and Eva (Whitenect) Parlee. He is survived by his wife Ethel (Patterson) Scott Parlee, daughter, Ferne Buchanan of Sussex, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, stepdaughter Irene Mannette of Saint John, stepsons Arthur (Jean) Mosher of Etobicoke, ON and Kenneth (Simone) Mosher of Pennfield, New York, sisters Irene Lenny of Florida, Alice Flemming of Barrie, ON and Pauline Goddard (Harvey) of Berwick and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Marion (Shannon) Mosher Parlee, brother James Parlee and stepdaughter, Audrey Payne. Hedley served overseas in World War II with the Canadian Armed Forces Royal Rifles. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Sussex Branch # 20 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute Thursday at 6:45 PM. The funeral service will be held Friday November 14, 2003 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Eugene Fisher officiating. Interment will be at Berwick Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
