Obituary of Ronald A. Wallace
Wallace, Ronald Albert, 89, of Sussex, and formerly of Penobsquis, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Saint John on May 3, 2013. Born in Penobsquis, he was a son of the late Harry and Ollie (nee McLeod) Wallace. Ron worked as an insurance agent and assisting people with their income tax returns. He loved hunting and fishing, but his great passion was harness racing; his prized possession was his horse “Fightin’ Filly”, the fastest mare this side of Montreal for 4 years running. Ron was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Wallace (nee Reid); his daughters: Elizabeth Green of Sussex Corner, and Jayne Clarke (David) of Fredericton; his son, William “Bill” Wallace (Lynn) of Sussex; his sisters-in-law: Vivienne Tabor, Marion MacAfee, and Dorothy Wallace; his brothers-in-law: Ray Ness and Kenneth Reid; his grandchildren: Robin Green (Denise), Aaron Green (Megan), Samuel Wallace, Emma Wallace, Laura Clarke, Katherine Clarke, and Jennifer Clarke; great-grandchildren: Reilly Green and Carter Green; as well as by many other extended family members and friends. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his sisters: Jean Holden and Helen Ness; and his brothers: George Wallace and John Wallace. No visitation by family request. The funeral service will be held on Monday May 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Trinity Anglican Church with the Venerable David Barrett presiding. Interment will be held in the Pioneer Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Trinity Anglican Church Organ Fund or Building Fund, or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
