The death of Katherine Roberta Cripps of Drury's Cove Road occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 15, 2011 at the age of 62. Born in Portage Vale, NB, a daughter of the late Harold and Olive (Graves) Middleton. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Laughlan Cripps, their children; Cindy Kelly (John) of Red Earth, AB, Mark Cripps (Karen Gray) of Smiths Creek, Joy Cripps (Patrick Sullivan) of Ratters Corner, Bruce Cripps (Janet) of Ratters Corner and Colin Cripps of Fort McMurray, AB, grandchildren; Shannon Kimball (John), Devon and Donovan Cripps, Riley Sullivan, Kristin and Ashley Munro and Maggie Gray, several great grandchildren, her siblings; Joan Cummings (Lawrence) of Salt Springs, Myrna Sharpe (Sonny) of Fredericton, Dolores Northrup (Paul) of Sussex Corner, Spencer Middleton (Nancy) of Salisbury and David Middleton (Sheila) of Portage Vale, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Ferne Middleton. Katherine loved flowers and gardening, she made many beautiful cross stitch and knitting creations. She was very active in the community, always willing to lend a hand and would have babysat almost every child that grew up there. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Wednesday January 19, 2011 at 2:00PM with Reverend Scott Hillier officiating.
