PEARSON, Avis M. The death of Mrs. Avis M. Pearson of Sussex occurred on October 28, 2008 at the Sussex Health Centre at the age of 81. Born at Amherst, Nova Scotia a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Seth Lund. She was the wife of the late George B. Pearson who passed away in July of 1982. Avis is survived by a son James Pearson of Sussex and McKellar, ON, daughter Pat Pearson (Janice Beardsley) of Sussex Corner, grandsons; James and Zack Pearson and daughter-in-law Linda Pearson of Sussex, sister-in-law Pauley Pearson of Wickham and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Avis was predeceased by a son Harold Pearson, infant daughter Judy, her brother Orwell “Buster” Phillips and sisters-in-law Pauline (Pearson) Haley, Irene (Banks) Watters, brothers-in-law Harold R. Pearson, Eldon Pearson and Arnold Haley. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Thursday from 6-9PM. A graveside service will be held at Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex on Friday October 31, 2008 at 2:00PM.
