Obituary of Glenn C. Folkins
It is with great love and sorrow that the family announces the passing of Glenn Crealock Folkins, loving husband and father of Gayle and Heather. Glenn passed away at the Sussex Health Centre surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1946, son of the late Emerson and Doris (Crealock) Folkins.
Glenn met and married Gayle in London, Ontario and moved back to New Brunswick with their daughter in 1976 and have resided in Lower Millstream ever since. He worked as a crane operator for the Department of Transportation until 1989 when he retired due to disability. Glenn is survived by three brothers: Carl (Sharon) Folkins, Douglas (Joyce) Folkins, Blair (Sally) Folkins and two sisters: Joan (Bill) Vincent, Bertha Folkins as well as cousins, nephews and nieces and his beloved dog, Nellie. Glenn was an avid sports fanatic and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends.
He was a courageous man and had a positive outlook no matter what challenges came his way. He has touched many and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11th, from 6-9 pm.
The funeral service will be held at the Sussex Select Chapel on Wednesday, March 12th at 11 a.m. Donations to Extra Mural Program Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
